How to tell if grief has become depression
Although grief and depression share symptoms like insomnia, sadness, weight loss and loss of appetite, the former is usually decreases over time. From a mental health perspective, depression is normally more persistent and is often felt even when you’re in situations you would normally enjoy. However, with atypical depression, your mood may improve when you are doing things that you enjoy. The difference between grief and atypical depression is that symptoms normally include excessive sleeping, eating and weight gain.
